Will Self talks at Tate

Will Self gives a Monique Beudert Memorial Lecture, part of a series that focuses on literary writers and their relationship with visual culture. Self is the author of four collections of short stories, the first of which, The Quantity Theory of Insanity (Bloomsbury, 1991), won the 1993 Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. He has also written five novels, including the forthcoming The Book of Dave (Viking, 2006) and How the Dead Live (Bloomsbury, 2000), which was shortlisted for the Whitbread Book of the Year in 2000. He is a regular television and radio broadcaster and contributes to a plethora of publications. Self discusses how visual imagery has helped shape his work.
