Caught on Camera!

So. It's the night after the night before. Many thanks to everyone that got involved in A Futile Gesture: the performers, the costume-wearers, the costume-judges, and everybody that came along for a beer and a boogey. It was a great night.
To celebrate, we have uploaded the incriminating pictures (and videos!). To see them and more shots of the lovely Hugo (above), just click on the Pictures link over there somewhere. ----->

If anyone has any more pics, please let us know and we'll arrange to put them up as well.
Enjoy!

Sounds Screens

when: Fri 24 Mar (6-10pm)
where: E:vent (96 Teesdale Street, E2, 020.7613.0300) Tube: Bethnal Green map
price: free
links: Event info

Tucked away out the back of Bethnal Green, Sound Screens is part of Threshold, a series of experimental sonic soireés sending reverb through the East End during March and continuing through April. Threshold provides a platform for the exploration of contemporary sound art, looking at the relationship between sound and how it interacts with space. Tonight's showcase sees artists merging audio and visual material to create collages sampled from an array of sources. Veteran multimedia artist PeopleLikeUs chops up found footage, creating sinister dreamscapes, while HFRLab's Cityscan spools a soundtrack that travels along the visual pattern of a pulsating city. (MR)NB: The exhibition runs until Wed 30 Mar (daily: 12-6pm).

twould be good to see some of you down here...

LondonMetSU needs your help!!!!

LondonMet Students' Union needs your support!

You are receiving this email because you are one of 1700 LondonMet students that are currently signed up as members of a club or society. A new constitution was imposed upon LondonMetsu that will severely restrict your rights as a student.

Please sign our online petition and leave messages by visiting.

http://www.gopetition.com/region/222/8217.html

Why should you care about it?

As a student and society member you will be affected as follows:

· This constitution removes all responsibility students had in organising social and recreational services.

· This constitution is cutting out the possibility of final year students of being eligible as sabbatical officers. It also prevents Freshers and those with a mental health difficulty to stand for election.

· The university proposes not to fund or recognise the Students' Union if we do not have 7.5% of all eligible voters take part in elections. Under new regime sabbatical officer will not have any staff support or funding to help run the campaign.

· They have taken clubs and societies away from the union and removed peer support.

· The new constitution removes the Participation and Development Officer position.

You can get more info from the Education Guardian:

http://education.guardian.co.uk/higher/news/story/0,,1730787,00.html

We need some support if we are to prevent this constitution from going through our Board of Governors. Please sign our online petition and leave messages by visiting.

http://www.gopetition.com/region/222/8217.html

With your support we will hopefully get the London Metropolitan Board of Governors to see sense. Please show your support!!

Kind Regards,
LondonMetsu Executive
